Hallway Before and Afters

My Child's lovely sharpie mural...

I left his mural up for awhile cus to be honest I found the thing pretty hilarious.  Finally I decided it was time to paint.  I knew I wanted yellow but I was honestly a little terrified because I tried painting a room yellow in our last house and I sort of hated it.  I picked a pretty horrible shade though.  I went to the paint store at Parker Paint and talked to the guys there forever.  They were SO helpful.  I told them I wanted yellow but not too yellow or too bright.  I brought home lots of samples and called my Mom 50 times in 3 days trying to figure out what to do.  I felt like the light yellow would be too bright and the dark yellow would be too dark so after scouring the internet for hours I decided on both yellows and a chair rail.  I LOVE IT!!! I think it turned out amazing.  I love the glow it gives, I love that the hallway feels warm and spacious! The light yellow is called Harvest Corn or Corn Harvest, I can't recall at the moment, and the darker yellow which is two shades darker the the light is called Beach Tan.  I actually ended up painting one of the bedrooms with the Corn Harvest, and the Master Bedroom the Beach Tan (Pics for those later!)

I think the Hub did an awesome job on the chair rail!  The hallway is my favorite "room" in the house now.
